She Is

Given the opportunity to host an exhibition on the campus of Azusa Pacific University, I spent a year in preparation and prayer deciding on what message to present. I settled on women in the church and, more specifically, God as a mother.

I felt it was my responsibility to illustrate God’s feminine side by providing female leaders to my viewers. It was important for me to provide someone who was in their community as well as outside.

I selected four women, all with unique backgrounds:

The Title

I chose the title “She Is” because it’s an open-ended statement. The shows direction as a whole is to tug and pull on a worldview that is popular (God as a father).

The show contained over 40 pieces, all printed, displaying scripture and quotes from these Spirit-filled women.

Apparel Design

We also took the opportunity to sell originally designed apparel. Before the night was over all shirts sold out and the back-order more than doubled the original.
